Sunday Shopping 10/30 **completely free drug store haul**

Hello everyone I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday... So it is 9:15 and as usual me and my little guys have been up and at it with our couponing adventure. Today started as a very bad couponing day.
1st my newspapers only had one insert in them
2nd my 6th newspaper that had all three inserts did not have the coupon I needed
3rd My ECB did not print at CVS...

I say all that to show you guys that things happen even to a pro like me.. It's part of the game.
With all that said I still had an amazing haul and it was completely free (in couponing terms). I also took the $20 challenge which is just challenging yourself to only spend $20 cash and I was able to do that and have a dollar left over.

So here is what I purchased

T1C2:
2 thermacare heat wraps on sale this week for $5.99 from $6.99 and producing a $5 ECB when you purchase 2.
1 Illy Issimo coffee drink on sale for $2 from $2.49

I used:
2- $3 off any thermacare coupon (click here to view my sunday shopping prep and get the printables)
1 Free Illy coffee drink coupon (printing at the magic coupon machine)
$2 ECB for pledging to stop throwing them away (click here to check out the post on this and get the coupon)
This entire transaction can be done by you.. I have provided everything needed.. If you want to start couponing this is a GREAT first transaction...

My total before coupons and sales was $16.47 and I paid $4.73 OOP a total savings of $11.74 or 71%.
I also received a $5 ECB for my purchase which is more than my total OOP making this transaction essentially FREEEEEEEEEEEE...

T2C1:
2 Aveeno Lotions on sale for $6.50 from a price of $8.79
1 Illy coffee drink

I used:
2- $1 off any aveeno lotion or body wash peelie (located on some of the products... LOOK FOR THEM... I did not walk in with these coupons I spotted them in the store while choosing which lotions to get...)
1 Free Illy coffee drink coupon (printing from the magic coupon machine)
$5 ECB (from the beauty club... these coupons surprise me every time because they come so often)

My total before coupons and sales was $20.07 and I paid $6.50 OOP a savings of $13.57 or 68%. I received a $7 ECB for this purchase which is more than my total OOP so this transaction was FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...

My total CVS haul was $36.54 and my total OOP was $11.23 a total savings of  $25.31 or 69% .. Not Bad.. And I have $12 in ECB's for next week...

Today I spent a total of $11.23 at CVS and $7.50 on my newspapers (6) a total of $18.73.
Not bad for the $20 challenge.

check out the video for this haul below also including my Walmart end of the month items. ..

Sunday Shopping Prep

So there are no deals for this coming week that really spark my interest. My hauls from the drug stores are getting smaller and smaller but that is part of the game so I am ok with that... I did want to let everyone know of a great deal that I will be getting from CVS.

Starting 10/30
Buy 2 thermacare (or advil) products receive a $5 ECB
Buy 2 Thermacare heat wraps @ $5.99 each
Use 2 $3 off any thermacare product printable coupon (use 2 address to print twice)

Pay $5.98 OOP
Receive a $5 ECB so it's like paying $.98 for both...

This is the only deal so far that I know that I will be getting. If you would like to see all the deals posted for CVS and Walgreen (she hasn't posted rite aid as of now) go to www.southernsavers.com.

2 John Frieda travel sized shampoo and conditioner. These are priced at $1.49 but you receive a $5UP for purchasing them. So this is also a money maker.

My total before sales and coupons was $12.97 I paid $2.25 OOP a total savings of $10.72 or 83%. But I have a 5 gift card (my UP reward would not print so I was given a gift card) and will be receiving a $2 rebate check for this purchase..

Harris Teeter Haul 10/20/11

Hello everyone so as I stated before I went back to Harris Teeter again today. They had great deals on teas and coffee and I wanted to stock up before my coupons expired. I purchased:

5 Folgers 7 pack single instant coffees. They are priced at $.99 each and I used 3- $.35 off coupons that doubled making 3 of them $.29 and a $.75 off two coupon that printed at the register yesterday making two of the coffee packs $.61 each (not the best deal on the last two packs but I wanted to see if the harris teeter coupon that printed would double. It didn't. )

10 cans of tuna. These are on sale for B2G3 free. They are priced at $1.87 each so I paid $7.49 and got an additional $11.22 worth of tuna free.

2 soft scrub gel cleaners with bleach. These are on sale this week for $2.25 and I used a $.50 coupon that doubled bringing my OOP for each bottle to $1.25.

2 -1lb mahatma rices. These are priced at $1.55 and I used a $.50 off coupon. This coupon specifies it will not double and during my transaction yesterday it did not. Somehow today it did. I do not know what was the difference in the transactions but I am not complaining. So I paid $.55 each for the packs of rice.

6 campbell soups at hand. These are on sale for $1 this week and I used a coupon for $.50 off two that doubled making it essentially B1G1 free.

2 celestial seasoning teas on sale this week for $2.50. I used a $1 off coupon bringing my total for each to $1.50. Also each package that I purchased today has a $1/2 coupon inside...

That's it.. a quick simple painless haul..

My total before coupons and sales was $51.78 and my OOP was $19.51 a total savings of $32.27 or 62%.

Weekly Harris Teeter Haul 10/19 video

My memory card died mid-video so this does have 2 part...

Weekly Harris Teeter Haul 10/19

Hey it's that time again... Harris Teeter has a couple interesting items on sale this week. I am actually going to go back tomorrow for a couple more of a few of the items (Harris Teeter only allows 3 like coupons on each items)... SO LET'S SEE WHAT I GOT...

I PURCHASED:

3 1 pound mahatmah rices priced at $1.55 each. I had a $.50 off coupon that specified it would not double so I paid $1.05 for each rice.

1 soft soap scrub gel with bleach that is on sale for $2.25 from $2.65. I used a $.50 off coupon that doubled taking my OOP for the bottle to $1.25.

3 Folgers single pack instant coffees (7 pack) they are priced at $.99 and I had a $.35 off coupon that doubled making each pack cost $.29.

10 cans of tuna. Tuna is on sale this week for B1G3 free. Whenever this deal comes around I stock up on tuna because it is an amazing deal on its own. There is a limit of 10 per card so no one person gets all the tuna. My total for the 10 cans was $7.56 (but I got another $11.34 worth of tuna FREE)

6 Campbell great for cooking soups. All Campbell's soups are on sale for $1 from $1.69 and I used 2 -$.40/3 coupons that made my total for the 6 cans $4.40.

3 celestial seasonings teas. This is by far my favorite deal because I love tea. They are on sale for $2.50 from $3.79 and I had a $1 off coupon for each taking my OOP for each tea to $1.50.

4 sprout baby food pouches priced at $1.09. I used a B3G1

3 boxes of bagelfulls priced at $2.99. I used a $.55 off coupon that doubled bringing my OOP for each package to $1.44 (my husband eats these daily so they are in my regimen a lot whether on sale or not).

2 packages of Tai Pei pot stickers. The 24oz packages are on sale for $5.69 and I used a $.75 off coupon that doubled bringing my OOP for each to $4.19.

1 Gold peak tea 64oz priced at $2.29. I used a $.75 off coupon that doubled bringing my OOP to $.79 for the tea.

4 yoplait yogurts on sale for $.60 from $.70. I used a $.40/6 coupon that doubled bringing my OOP for the 6 to $2.80. I must have had two separate e coupons for yogurt attached to my card because $.40 and $.35 came off for the yogurt so I paid $2.05 for the yogurt.

2 -28 count packages of Armori meatballs. They are on sale this week for $2.47 from $3.99. No coupons just a great deal on some meat.

My OOP before sales and coupons was $91.07 and my OOP was $44.33 a difference of $46.68 or 51%...

cvs haul 10/17

During the summer CVS had a promotion where if you spent $30 in select items you got a $10 gas card. I got this deal every week that had food items and or baby items in it. Since they recieved such great reviews they are having a new promotion where if you purchase $30 in select items you get a $10 gift card of your choice. The items vary but are listed in the ad as well as around the store. This week I was super happy because they had diapers in the deal. Break down is coming soon./

CVS Haul 10/12/11

So tonight I stopped by CVS and here is what I purchased. I originally went in for the Lipton deal because I love getting ECB's for food and beverage items. My store was completely out of the Lipton but the magic coupon machine gave me my $5 ECB from the beauty club which completely changed my game plan anyway.

T1C2:
1 Jergens lotion on sale for $6.99 from $7.79
2 Jergens 8 pack bar soap on sale for $1.99 from $2.69

I used:
$1 off Jergans lotion coupon
$5 ECB from the beauty club

My total before coupons and sales was $13.17 and I paid $5.39 OOP a total savings of $7.78 or 59%. I had no lotion in my stockpile and since the ivory soap coupons are such lower values now my bar soap is dwindling. I also received $3 in ECB's for purchasing $10 in select products.. NOT BAD>>>

Weekly Harris Teeter Haul

I hope everyone is having a great week. So today I did my weekly Harris Teeter haul. I just picked up a couple things that were on sale to add to my stockpile. Your stockpile is so important and once you get to a place where you have a good supply you don't have to do massive hauls but more of maintenance hauls. OK so this is what I purchased today.
I usually do not deviate from my shopping list but my hubby wanted to make sammi's so I did..
I purchased:

1 HT brand 2% milk priced at $3.89. Last week I purchased 6 boxes of cereal and the Catalina machine printed a free gallon of milk up to $3.60. Of coarse the milk was higher than that but I paid $.29 OOP

9 Original Spaghetti O's on sale for $.88 from $1.00 (don't be confused the spaghetti o's with meat are on sale for $1). I used 3- $.40/3 coupon that doubled bringing my OOP for the 9 I purchased to $5.52.

9 Green Giant frozen vegetables on sale for $1 from $2. I used 3- $.60/3 coupons that doubled bringing my total for the 9 boxes to $5.40.

9 boxes of Hamburger Helper priced at $1 from $1.95. I used 3- $.75/3 coupons that brought my OOP for the 9 boxes to $4.50.

2 Pepsi Max 2 liters on sale for $1.99 from $2.19. I used a $.55 coupons (these coupons say do not double I would have left these at the store had I saw this but decided to not interrupt the transaction and kept them). bringing my OOP for the two soda's to $2.88.

1 Ciabatta loaf @ $3.99
Tomatoes @ .84
Lettuce head @1.69

(I was looking to get the gold peak 18.5 oz teas but my store did not carry them. They are on sale this week for $1.50 and there is a $1 printable bringing the OOP to $.50 each so if you have that coupon and have a harris teeter near you definitely get that deal. )

So my total before coupons and sales was $61.34 and I paid $25.11 OOP a total savings of $36.23 or $59%.

Rite Aid Sunday Shopping ***MORE FREEBIES***

Hello everyone I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. If you have not gotten a chance to head to the stores yet I hope you take that leap today and start your couponing lifestyle. As I stated in earlier posts the only store that had anything worth making a trip for was Rite Aid. I stopped in Walgreens as well but only to pick up some cereal. Alright so here is what I purchased today..
I went into Rite Aid with 3 transactions in mind, the two that I had posted and one more that I didn't post. When I got to my store all the Colgate optic white toothpastes that were on UP reward sale were sold out. So I had to come up with different transactions. When this happens to me I simply put everything I plan on getting into my cart and and plan out my transactions once I have everything I want. This way I can visualise and separate my transactions before checkout. Cashiers love when you are neat and prepared at check out so let them know ahead of time the number of transactions you have, as well as have your coupons ready.

T1:
1 Chloraseptic sore throat spray originally priced at $6.49 and on sale for $3.99 producing a $3UP
1 Cepacol throat drops originally $4.99, on sale for $2.50 and producing a $2.50UP
1 Preparation H wipes on sale for $3.00 from it's original price of $4.99 and producing a $3UP
2 Carefree 20 count liners on sale for $1 each from $1.49 each
I used:
a $2 off any preparation H coupon (linked in the previous post)
$1 off 2 carefree liners (this is a rite aid coupon from their video values program click here for more information)
$2UP I walked in with.

My OOP was $7.29 after tax and I received $8.50UP so technically I made $1.20 on this transaction because I received back more than I paid out.

T2:
1 Sunday Paper priced at $1.25
2 Scope dual blast mouth washes on sale for $4.49 from $4.79 producing a $2UP
1 wet and wild nail polish priced at $.99
1 Blistex lip balm on sale for $1.49 from $2.79 and producing a $1.49UP

I used:
2-$2 off any scope dual blast mouth wash coupons
$8.50UP from T1

My OOP for this transaction was $1.10 ( subtotal was $.21) and I received $5.49UP so I made $4.39 on this transaction.
I will be rolling my remaining UP rewards into my purchase on next week...

So all together I had a total of $34.11 and I spent $8.39 literally out my pocket a savings of 25.72 or 75% ..

I also went to Walgreens they have Honey Nut on sale for 2/$5. They have a $1 off 2 coupon in their October coupon booklet located in stores and I had a $1 off 2 coupon that I stacked. So I paid $3.10 OOP or $1.55 each (tax included).

Sunday Shopping Prep

Most Sundays I go to CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid... This is a slower week so I don't think that will be the case. Every Saturday night I will try and post my plans for my shopping trip so you can start getting in the swing of couponing.. Alright let's see what I'm thinking..

Rite Aid:
This is a big week for sales and freebies at rite aid. I do have $2 in Up rewards going in (rite aid money) (If you have never shopped at rite aid before the first thing you want to do is sign up for their wellness card so you can get the sales prices of all the items. )

T1:
2 Colgate Optic White Toothpastes on sale for 3.99 each but when you buy 2 you get $6UP back

Colgate coupon expires today so you will not be able to use the printable.. the scenario is still good especially for having no supply of coupons without that coupon...

so let's break down the transaction  2TP @ 3.99 = $7.98 OOP + tax

Attached to your recipt will be an UP reward for $6 to use on your next purchase making this transaction free.. You paid $5.98 and got $6 back...

T2:
1- 6oz chloraseptic sore throat spray priced at $3.99 and printing a $3UP
1 Preparation H totable 10 pack wipes on sale for $3 and printing a $3UP
1 Blistex Lip Ointment priced at $1.49 and printing $1.49UP
(items that print the total amount of their price are considered FREEBIES)

I will use a $2 off any preperation H (click link to print coupon.. you do have to sign up but it is painless)

so let's break it down...

chloraseptic spray (you may choose lozenges also) $3.99
Preparation H $3
Blistex $1.49
_______________________________________________
totaling $8.48
-2 prepH coupon
- $6UP from transaction on
_______________________________________________
.48 OOP + tax (tax is pre coupon and in most states is 7% so I will pay .60 in tax so $1.08 total)
Receive back 3UP(spray) 3UP(prepH) 1.49UP (blistex) = $7.49UP

THESE TWO TRANSACTIONS ARE A GREAT WAY TO GET YOUR FOOT IN COUPONING. .. IF YOU HAVE A PRINTER YOU HAVE ALL THE COUPONS YOU NEED. I WILL DO A COUPLE MORE TRANSACTIONS BUT AS TO NOT CONFUSE ANYONE I WILL STOP HERE AND GO DEEPER NEXT WEEK.. GOOD LUCK AND LET ME KNOW HOW YOU DID..

Saving on items other than groceries

People ask me all the time am I an extreme couponer and I always answer no I am not. I can truly say that I am an extreme saver. I love to save on every avenue of my life and save as much as possible with as little hassle as possible. I am a woman and I love to shop but I have to get some bang for my buck.. Here are some tips on saving on items that are not classified as household or grocery items:

1: Pay attention to commercials, advertisements and store circulars
Many times stores have sales that are for a limited time and in order to earn the most revenue as possible they do a lot of advertising in various outlets. Pay attention to these and get to stores early on the first day of sales to get the best selection. The best sales are further mark downs on clearance items but items go fast.

2. Don't be fooled by sales. .. Not every sale is a good sale
Recently Old Navy had a sale that was buy one item get another for a dollar or something similar to that. The gimmick with this sale was the first item was priced regularly so if you get two pair of jeans (which was going to be my purchase) priced at $40 each you are still paying $20 for each pair of jeans which is a no go for me personally. I skipped this sale. It is easy to get caught up in the wording of sales but stores have to make money so sometimes the sales only benefit them.

3. Check the clearance rack
I started couponing because I have always been frugal but love to shop. I can not remember an item that I have personally bought for myself that was not at a deep discounted price or on clearance. All clothing, shoe, and miscellaneous (such as big lots, marshall, ross) stores have clearance and most times it is just items that are low in stock or have been in the store a while and room is needed for new merchandise. Clearance is usually marked down 50-75% off and is still great quality material at great prices. Yesterday I swung by JC Penny's to redeem my free Sephora lip gloss and use my $10 off a $50 purchase coupon (available in stores until 10/10) and I saved 146.51 by combining clearance shopping with the coupon and purchased some staples for my wardrobe.

4. Shop out of Season
Stores have sale cycles just as food does and they need to get rid of items that are of a certain season to make room for the upcoming weather. So shop backwards. Fall in the Summer and Spring in the Winter. So when the season comes around you are prepared and don't have to worry about purchasing necessities at full price

5. Complete store promotions
A lot of stores have surveys that can be completed after a purchase that will give you a coupon for a future purchase. Most people overlook these savings. I personally do not.. Here is a coupon I recieved today for my purchase at JC Penny's on yesterday. I simply rated their store and waaalaaa ------------------------------>>>>>>

6. Get cash back for your online purchases
There are websites where you can earn cash back on your online purchases by simply going to their website first and going to the stores website through them. Two of the sites I personally use and have recieved checks from is www.ebates.com and www.shopathome.com.

7. Save on shipping
It seems like a standard for companies to give you free shipping when you purchase $50 or more from their website but a growing trend is ordering things and sending them to a local store. If you have a local store in your area this is a great way to save on shipping. If you have to travel 25 miles to get to a store you are better off paying the shipping.

8. Printable Coupons
There are coupons for everything you just have to find them. Before I head to any store or purchase anything I search for a coupon. I simply go to yahoo.com and search ________ coupon. Most sites that come up have reviews on how many people a certain code or coupon has worked for. I use this frequently especially when I have to rent a car. There have also been a lot of coupons for $12 off a jiffy lube oil change on http://www.coupons.com/ (try zip code 98115) they may still be available if you are interested. These coupons do not expire until July of 2012 so you have plenty of time to save...

Well I hope these steps are helpful to you. I use each and every one in my everyday life to save my family in every possible area of our lives.. Thanks a bunch for supporting this site

Small Walmart Haul 54% savings

I stopped in Walmart today to pick up a few more soups that I wanted to price match to the Big Lots sale ending today. Soup at Walmart is on roll back this week for $1.49 but is on sale at Big Lots for $1. I had 3-$1 off 4 cans of progresso soup coupons so I purchased 12 cans of soup for $9. This made each can $.75. Anything under $1 is a stock up price for me when it comes to soup so I was excited about getting them for under that. I also have a lot of various Tide coupons and even though my walmart had plenty Tide single load packets (that cost $.97 and are located in the travel size section) I only used 3-$2 off any 3 Tide coupons purchasing 9 total. My total before coupons and price matching for the 12 cans of soup and 9 Tide single load packets was $26.61 and I spent $12.34 a savings of $14.27 or 54%...

CVS Haul 10/6

Hey guys... During the week coming I want to do all my hauls with no money going in. My following has become rather large and I want to show everyone that savings are possible when you are just starting out. I have been couponing for a while so I roll my rewards into the next weeks deals which makes my OOP extra small. But when you are first starting you will not have any drug store rewards going in. So I want to start fresh with you. Hopefully you guys have started collecting coupons and organizing them however you see fit. If not don't fret a lot of coupons are printables and will be available to you. So lets see how I did at CVS in an effort to get rid of the ECB's I had.
The transactions I had originally mapped out were messed up when the cashier seperated my transactions wrong but in the end I was able to get products I actually wanted so it was ok. Let's break it down.Going into the store I had $5 in ECB's that I had gotten from the dove deal earlier in the week.

T1C2:
1 Tylenol Precise 3 count heat patch priced at $7.79 and producing a $2 ECB when you purchase one. I used a $3 off coupon and my $5 ECB (that he had to take down to $4.79) bring my OOP down to the price of tax which was $.55

T2C2:
2 revlon nail polishes priced at $4.99 and producing a $3 ECB for each (limit 6) and a blow pop priced at $.57 (I had the blow pop for my original transaction in an effort to bring my transaction total to the amount of the coupons I had). I used the $2 ECB that I recieved from T1 and my OOP was $9.29 but I got back $6 in ECB.

T3C2:
2 cover girl true blend foundations priced originally at $9.29. Cover girl face products are on a B1G1 50% sale this week so for one foundation I paid $4.64.I also purchased another blow pop for $.57.  I used an $8 off 2 cover girl face products coupon and the $6 I had recieved from T2. My OOP for this transaction was $1.52.

So my total before coupons and sales was $38.49 and I spent $11.36 OOP a total savings of $27.13 or 70% ...
